Unravel Me

Once I was older than I am today,
Couldn't see the light for the night of day.
Walked for miles while I laid in my bed,
And I dreamed a dream that was not in my head.

I slept so soundly in a fit of rage,
My spirit free locked inside a cage.
Escaped the justice that indicted me,
And my ship ran aground in the open sea.

Oh, come on baby, now shelter me,
Wrap me up so that I can see.
Tomorrow may come and bury me,
But only you can set me free.
Only you can unravel me.

Only you can unravel me.

      -------------------------------------------

When I finally woke up I was fast asleep,
Crawled from the quicksand that held me deep.
Broke my finger while I bandaged my knee,
And I paid full price though the sign said "Free".

Crashed my car as I flew into town,
Everyone was sad when I played the clown.
Drank some Margaritas while I sobered up,
And I rescued my sorrows in an empty cup.

Oh, come on baby, now shelter me,
Wrap me up so that I can breathe.
Tomorrow may come and bury me,
But only you can set me free.
Only you can unravel me.

Only you can unravel me.

      -------------------------------------------

Late one night, without much fuss,
I stood all alone on a crowded bus.
I passed your stop inadvertently,
Without your love I'm in misery.

Oh, come on baby, now shelter me,
Wrap me up so that I can see.
Tomorrow may come and bury me,
But only you can set me free.
Only you can unravel me.

Only you can unravel me.

Oh, come on baby, now shelter me,
Wrap me up so that I concede.
Tomorrow will come and bury me,
But only you can set me free.
Only you can unravel me.

Only you can unravel me.
